Golden Fall......

.......with some ice.  Got some strange weather to start the month.  While snow anytime in October is common on the Front Range a freezing rain storm not as much.  The past two days have been wet and much colder with temps dropping into the 20's last night.

Today things cleared out and just about a 1,000 feet up from Golden there was ice.  Did a Chimney > Apex ride and enjoyed the clear crisp air and really amazing light as the sun started melting all the frozen water.

Starting the day out looking up towards Chimney Gulch...

Ice covered vegetation ahead....

Looking back over Golden

Ice everywhere except the trail

Heading down Apex.

Some fall colors.

Finished up with some beers hanging on the deck soaking up some sun.....fall is here on the Front Range.

Lakota approves.....

Nice weather on tap for the rest of the week......
